I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again – my brides and grooms totally rock! I’m so lucky to work with the coolest couples on the planet, and Kassie & Ryan were no exception. Not only are they super cool (the kind of people you love spending a fun-filled weekend with – filled with chic details, hardcore grooving on the dance-floor, ghost towns and desert sunsets), but they’re also fab fellow photographers who do awesome work as Apostrophe Studios in Indianapolis. Their creativity also spilled over into the design of their wedding day making it an absolute joy to photograph. And I’m excited share that it’s been published in the latest May/June issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine.

Congrats K&R!! I loved being a part of your wedding and am so happy you got the lovin’ you deserve! Also, big thanks to Lauren and the amazing team at Destination Weddings for the fantastic spread and writeup.

As an added bonus, a were stoked to find out that an image of Kassie looking all stylish was selected for the inside front cover (contents) page!

The issue is brimming with great articles and inspiration – so be sure to pick up a copy at your local bookstore, or order a digital copy right through Destination Wedding Magazine’s website. Also, check back in the next day or two for a full blog post with lots more images from Kassie & Ryan’s beautiful Las Vegas wedding at Springs Preserve!

Jill & Ian’s Wedding

You may remember high-school sweethearts Jill and Ian from their engagement session with their adorable dog Simone that were featured on the blog while back (click here for a refresher). Well, their beautiful wedding at Cascata Country Club was featured on Style Me Pretty this past year and I got so busy that I never got the chance to share it here too. Jill (who happens to be a talented interior and event designer) put a ton of time and care into personalizing her wedding, and it definitely shows. Since it’s too pretty not to share, I’m going to say better late than never! :-)

Jill’s DIY work and design skills combined with the floral genius of Catherine at Layers of Lovely = Perfection. The floral arrangements were breathtaking! Just check out Jill’s succulent bouquet:

Now for some of the lovely ceremony details! I loved all the personal touches including Jill’s soon-to-be brother-in-law, Brian playing the guitar for the walk down the aisle and cozy “Cuddle Up” blankets for the guests – an awesome idea for an outdoor winter wedding!
Here’s Jill’s stylish bridal party – love these girls!
The image to the left is Jill’s sister-BFF-MOA, Danielle. I’m thrilled to be photographing her & Brian’s wedding this spring!! So, definitely check back for lots more from this fab crew. :-)

Kickback to the 90′s wedding shoot!

When Brit Bertino (the fantastic lead coordinator at Simply Weddings) came to me with the idea of doing a shoot with 1990′s inspired elements, I thought it was uber-rad and couldn’t wait to be a part of it!

For the photography I decided to create images that had a modern feel while reflecting the playfulness of the era. I took visual cues from 90′s graffiti and vibrant color trends, using bold shapes and splashes of color.

The shoot was held at Rumor – a super swanky boutique hotel just minutes off the strip. If you’re looking for a cool, modern location for an intimate wedding or after party, you should definitely check it out!

Of course, a 90′s hip-hop themed wedding wouldn’t be complete without great entertainment. Brandon Namebrand totally brought it with his killer dance moves on a LED dance-floor from Naakiti Floral.
Some of the pretty details:

Check out the feature on Rock ‘n Roll Bride with even more images from the shoot!
