Lindsey & Nate’s Wedding in San Antonio!

First off, let me say that both Jayse and I LOVE San Antonio, TX! Upon our arrival we enjoyed a very romantic TexMex dinner along the famous Riverwalk, which, I might add, may just be the most magical place next to Disneyland. But a night out awaited – so we headed out for the rehearsal party with Lindsey, Nate and the gang at Cowboys (complete with a live band & lots of dancing). It was definitely the best introduction to Texas!

But even though that first night in Texas would be hard to top – I think it may have been the next day with the long anticipated wedding of Lindsey & Nate! You may remember these two from their steamy engagement session at the Neon Boneyard (also featured on Rock ‘N Roll Bride) earlier this year. I love these two, and looking back through their photos put such a huge smile on my face.

Lets starts things off with my phenomenal bride – Lindsey has such a classic beauty.

Details details details! You know I’m a details kind of girl – but I didn’t know that I was in for a TREAT with this wedding! Lindsey’s mom, Sharon, made the most fantastic wedding details I think I’ve ever seen. By Lindsey’s request, nothing living was used. Now – you’d think that would be a limitation that would cause just about anyone to throw in the towel. But not Sharon. She completely rocked it! Just check out one of THE coolest bridal bouquets I’ve ever seen:It’s made of all metal elements, many of them with significant meaning to Lindsey and their family heritage — a dice and slot machine for their Las Vegas home, a horseshoe for Texas, a spoon for their Finland roots, her grandmothers earring, and so many more. Here’s just a few of the close-ups I captured:
I had Lindsey’s flower-girl show me the bottom of Lindsey’s shoes for a photograph of the pretty rhinestone appliques on the bottom. She accidentally held them backwards, which turned into a little joke between all of us — “Do I?” Hmm… Yep! “I Do”

Linds & her bridesmaids looked totally fabulous:

And just check out those bridesmaid bouquets too!

After some photos with the girls, we were off to the ceremony and reception at the lovely Vineyards Restaurant at Garden Ridge. As night fell the entire place became magical.

The mother-son/father-daughter dances were some of the most emotional I’ve ever witnessed. I think time literally stopped for everyone as we watched them move across the floor to their special songs. I’m so happy to have captured them.

Lindsey and Nate sharing their first dance as husband & wife… The following day we planned a day-after session to capture some more images of the happy newlyweds. I don’t think I could ever get enough of these two…

L + N: Thanks for giving us a great adventure in San Antonio & to your fam for being so wonderful and inviting! We’re so happy we could be a part of everything. :-) BIG congrats to you both!! Hope you guys enjoy the teasers. The rest will be up soon!

Lani & François’s Destination Wedding

I’ve been traveling quite a bit this past month and have lots to blog in the next few weeks. First up – France!

It was amazing – Jayse and I spent some time in Paris where we did some sightseeing, a couple trash the dress shoots and my own boudoir photo-shoot at our fab hotel (all of which I can’t wait to share). But the big highlight (and main purpose) of our trip to France was a wedding of Lani & Francois in a quaint little town called Lille. Here’s the sneak peak!

Jayse and I have a special place in our hearts for these two. After they cooked for us at ther house here in town and we met their dog, Bobo we knew we’d become awesome friends – and sure enough – we did! What we didn’t expet was to find their entire family to be so welcoming and inviting. The day we got into Lille we were welcomed by Lani’s mom Nanda, her sweet cousins Michelle and Jared & their mom Tante, and Lani’s brother Kyle & his fiancé Brittany. François’s parents were also there to greet us for a welcome reception at their home and although they didn’t speak any English they communicated their warmth perfectly – and their hospitality was amazing. We felt like we had gained a new family. :-)

On the wedding day, we started the day getting ready at the Olivarius Hotel, and for the first sight we snuck away to a secluded terrace where we made Lani & François wait in anticipation to see each other.

The ceremony took place in a beautiful 500 year old cathedral, L’eglise Saint Philippe, the church François grew up in. Can you imagine growing up in this church?? Fantastic!

For the getaway they drove off to the reception in a vintage BMW!

Now for the totally fabulous wedding party! From right to left is Brittany, David, our lovely bride & groom, Yannick & Michelle. You guys rock!

Lani looked amazing…We also incorporated a windmill into some of their photos to pay tribute to Lani’s Dutch heritage.

As the sun set at a nearby park – we were thrilled to hear the loud ‘hhhhhhhsssshhhhsssshhhh’ sound of balloons firing off. One went directly over us! We made a mad dash over to the waterline to setup and grab this ending shot just before the sun went down!

L&F: Thanks so much for bringing us on this journey with you! The full set of these will be online soon! We love you guys and are so happy for you two & for all that’s to come as you start your life together. :-)

UPDATE: Lani & François’s wedding was featured on Destination Inspirations! Big thanks goes to Jess McCann! Click here to see her post, including lots more images from Lani & FX’s wedding!

Bonjour from Paris!

Allo! Just sending a little update from Paris! So far the trip’s been wonderful. The first night Jayse and I visited with our friend (and fellow photographer) Juliane and her husband for a delicious Parisian style homemade meal of fondue and wine on their candle-lit rooftop. In addition, she gave us a fantastic insider’s tour of the city. We also made new friends with some local newlyweds who we got together with for some dress trashing fun, and took some time to enjoy the slower pace of things here and all the city has to offer. Tomorrow’s our last day in Paris, then we head into Lille, France (an hour north) for Lani & François’s wedding!

I can’t wait to share all the photos and stories from our trip once we return back to Vegas! Until then, here’s a photograph of Jayse and I enjoying the Eiffel Tower. Seeing it in person made me finally get why it’s so famous. Seeing it in the skyline creates an element of romance and magic, and it’s new with each different vantage point.

Big thanks goes to Sophie for taking this of us!

A bientôt! xox Chelsea

Mindy & Neil’s Beach Engagement Session

Jayse and I head out to L.A. a few times a year. Since we both work non-stop on our separate businesses, we cherish our mini road trips and get-aways together. We recently went out on my birthday weekend. It was a blast! We stayed at this adorable hotel just walking distance from Hermosa Beach (definitely a new favorite) and also spent a day hitting up all the killer rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain!

During our time out we also planned in an extra day to meet up with one of my awesome couples, Mindy and Neil, for their engagement session! It was so much fun hanging out and catching up on things while exploring the beaches and surrounding areas of Santa Monica & Venice Beach.
Mindy and Neil were total troopers when I asked if they were “Ready to get a little wet (and sandy)?!” I’m happy they were since it made for some steamy images of them together.

Mad props to my Jayse for lighting that last one for me (and even getting your only shoes all wet and squishy in the process). Love you! xox

After switching out of the soggy clothes into some fresh ones, we went to Santa Monica’s neighbor beach - Venice to go exploring! Mindy and Neil love to shop together so our first stop was Venice’s waterfront boardwalk with lots of little outdoor shops and cool art-scene.

Keep an eye out for Mindy and Neil’s wedding happening next month at the beautiful Silverstone Golf Club here in Las Vegas!
