Erin and Jon’s Wedding

Let me introduce you to Erin and Jon. Their love for games and bets (they even named their dog JackPot) naturally led them to Las Vegas to seal the deal! Here are some photos I captured from their beautiful December wedding at The Platinum Hotel. Only Erin an Jon’s close friends will get this but if their day could be summed up in one word it would be: AWESOME! ;-)

One of my favorite moments of a wedding day is the “first look” when the groom see his bride for the first time. It’s a romantic private moment that adds so much to the day. Erin and Jon’s first look is going down as one of my favorites. And because they saw each other before the ceremony, we were able to plan in enough time to head downtown for some photos amongst Vegas’s colorful neon lights!Loved Erin’s hair and makeup by Makeup in the 702. The side-swept ponytail looked so romantic!

Of course, I can’t end the post without to giving a shout to Erin and Jon’s super stylish wedding party – such an awesome group of people! :-)

January 30, 2012 - 8:46 pm Rosemary Frid - Wow! These are gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see the rest of the photos. Thank you so much, Chelsea, for making the memories of this special day so fabulous through your beautiful photos.

January 30, 2012 - 4:16 pm Marie Quinby - Beautiful pictures! How wonderful to have your special day captured so beautifully and artistically. I have spent the past several minutes trying to pick a favorite shot, but it just isn't possible. Congratulations again to both of you!

January 30, 2012 - 1:40 pm Debbie Blake - Absolutely beautiful and romantic! Chelsea, thank you so much for capturing the day so stunningly!

January 30, 2012 - 1:26 pm Erin Blake Frid - Ahhhh!!!! I love-love-love these!! Thanks everyone for such an AWESOME day! p.s...I'd love to know what y'al think! Leave a comment! :0)

January 30, 2012 - 1:17 pm Don Blake - Chelsea, Thanks for the pictures and thanks for helping to make Erin and Jon's wedding such a fantastic event. Your professionalism, your skill and your smile added to the event all day and all night long. Thanks Don (Erin's Dad)

Kickback to the 90′s wedding shoot!

When Brit Bertino (the fantastic lead coordinator at Simply Weddings) came to me with the idea of doing a shoot with 1990′s inspired elements, I thought it was uber-rad and couldn’t wait to be a part of it!

For the photography I decided to create images that had a modern feel while reflecting the playfulness of the era. I took visual cues from 90′s graffiti and vibrant color trends, using bold shapes and splashes of color.

The shoot was held at Rumor – a super swanky boutique hotel just minutes off the strip. If you’re looking for a cool, modern location for an intimate wedding or after party, you should definitely check it out!

Of course, a 90′s hip-hop themed wedding wouldn’t be complete without great entertainment. Brandon Namebrand totally brought it with his killer dance moves on a LED dance-floor from Naakiti Floral.
Some of the pretty details:

Check out the feature on Rock ‘n Roll Bride with even more images from the shoot!

Miriam & John’s Wedding

Miriam (Mimi) & John met 8 years back as sophomores in college when they were introduced by mutual friends at The Village Inn restaurant. There was an instant attraction and their shyness lead to a sweet first moment that Mimi recalled to me: John said, “It’s very nice to meet you” to which Mimi replied, “Likewise.” Then he said it again: “It was really nice meeting you.” She found it super sweet and charming.

Together they share a unique love that revolves around both passion and a deep friendship. You may recall seeing their engagement session where we went star-gazing (one of their favorite past-times).

I adored the soft, delicate color-tones of the floral and bouquets designed by Teresa of Enchanted Florist. Here Mimi’s bridesmaid Doris is modeling the bridesmaid bouquet:Mimi & John’s ceremony took place at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church.

Then afterward we were off for photos and the reception which took place in the beautiful setting of The Springs Preserve‘s Nevada State Museum.

Mimi & John: I love you guys and am so honored that I could be a part of your wedding and celebrate with your sweet family and friends! Big congrats to you both! I hope you had an incredible time together honeymooning it up in San Francisco. :-)

Lindy & Dang’s Wedding

You may remember this fun, super stylish couple from their engagement session at Red Rock (click here to check it out!) this past winter. Well after many months of anticipation and excitement, the big day finally arrived – and now I’m thrilled to share some of the images! Big thanks goes to Melina Beckett at Mandarin Oriental and coordinator-extrodonaire, Juliet Douglas and team at Green Orchid Events for ensuring the flow of the day went perfectly and for planning in a good amount of time for photography.

Lets kick things off with some getting ready photos! Here, Lindy’s maid of honor, Thao is helping her get all dolled up! Hair & makeup was done by the talented Lori White and Lindy’s amazing gown is by one of my favorite dress designers, Monique Lhuillier.

Following the ceremony at Our Lady of La Vang church, guests followed Lindy & Dang outside for a white dove release.
Then we were off to the gorgeous Mandarin Oriental at City Center for more photos and the reception!

Some of the beautiful reception details…

I love Mandarin Oriental’s food arrangements – so pretty (and delish).

I’m going to end on one last image of my fab bride in her second dress. I loved the unique back.

L + D: I’m so happy I could be part of your day! HUGE congrats to you both!!

Kelly & Orr’s Wedding

Kelly & Orr came out from Toronto for a destination wedding at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel here in Las Vegas. The day went flawless thanks to their amazing team – Dennis Silknitter at the Four Seasons and Priscilla of Priscilla Drozd Event Consultants.

Kelly has an elegance and poise about her that made her a dream to photograph. Here her bridesmaids and lacing up her lovely Maggie Sottero wedding dress:

Hair and makeup was done by LaVey & Janine, the fabulous team at Your Beauty Call. And as an extra-special final touch, Kelly wore the viel her mother wore on her wedding day.

The ceremony took place on the Four Season’s Mesquite Balcony.

Married: Chrissy & Jason

I’m  excited to share Chrissy & Jason’s engagement and wedding photos on the blog today! First, here’s a few from their engagement session. I was stoked when I found out that Chrissy collects vintage 40, 50 and 60′s attire. The adorable skirt below actually belonged to her great-grandmother. How cool is that?!

And this next hot little number came from the Bettie Page store. I love how playful and flirtatious they are in these!

The wedding day

With the wedding day came even more reasons to love these two. Even though a full day of pouring rain meant moving their outdoor ceremony and reception inside, it didn’t dampen their spirits in the least! The entire day was so full of positive energy and an overwhelming amount of love.

And to top things off, not only did they not sweat the rain, but they totally embraced it! Chrissy & Jason’s up-for-anything attitudes meant they were down for a bit of fun in the rain. :-)

Frances & Eddie’s Wedding

Frances & Eddie’s wedding was held at the lovely St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish & one of Jayse and my favorite places: the super stylish Vintner Grill here in Las Vegas. Combining modern edge with classy romance — this wedding had all the elements! You may remember these two from their engagement session here. I have so much love for them and I’m excited to share their special day.

Lets start things off with some of the morning details…

Frances’s beautiful Jenny Lee wedding dress hung on a custom “mrs. lang” hanger. I must admit – I went a bit gaga over that hanger! I just love those extra special little touches! They make photographing details so fun!

Frances’s exquisite Loubiton shoes were what they used as inspiration for their wedding colors. Randi and team at Naakiti Floral did an incredible job bringing everything to life!

I think Eddie is saying to himself, “I got her! She’s mine!” in this photo:

After a first sight and ceremony at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, it was off to the reception at Vintner Grill!

The original restaurant Frances & Eddie had secured for their wedding ended up closing for renovation just a few months before the big day. While it put a bump in the road, it really turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I recommended one of my favorite restaurants here in town – the ultra chic Vintner Grill, known for their modern décor, phenomenal service and amazing food! I’m so happy they went with them, and was so excited to see their vision come to life against such a fab backdrop.

During the reception, Frances & Eddie had 3 different stations set up in the outside area in cabanas for their guests to enjoy; an ice cream station, a cigar rolling station and a wine tasting station. I loved the colorful ice cream station that Frances’s bridesmaids put together for her. It was full of delicious treats and their were 3 different flavors of ice cream made from scratch with Vintner’s special recipe!

At the cigar rolling station, there were adorable custom match-boxes:

As the reception began to wind down a little, we took a short stroll to explore and have some fun. Frances was beyond thrilled to throw off her shoes and give her feet a rest in the cool, crisp grass!

Then, it began to rain… but did we run inside? No way! There’s nothing quite as classically romantic as kissing in the rain.

Can’t get enough of these two? Be sure to check out their fun travel themed engagement session we did just a month prior to the wedding! Also, I can’t wait to share the fusion video Jayse is putting together from their wedding day!

F + E: Thanks so much for allowing us into your lives and for the many amazing memories! BIG congrats to you both! I hope you had a blast honeymooning it up in Greece. :-)

Update: Check out lots more from this wedding in the feature on Style Me Pretty!

Monica & George’s Wedding

Monica & George’s wedding took place at one of my favorite venues here in town, the gorgeous Loews Lake Las Vegas! This is the very same artistic couple that I photographed an engagement session with not too long ago with chalk drawings of elephants and birdies (their own personal symbols – more on this below!)

They infused their vibrant personalities completely throughout their wedding, with the theme being ‘Love and Light’. Yes, it’s safe to say I love this couple – so I’m proud to present once again: Monica and George!

I just about flipped when I saw George’s adorable elephant cuff links! (side-note: click here to check out images from their engagement shoot – including a little explanation on the meaning behind the elephant and birdie.)The entire ceremony was so heartfelt and lovely. I especially loved the look on Monica’s father’s face as he gave her away.

Not only are Monica & George perfect together, they also have a killer, unique style!  There was a little something for all the senses. The moroccan details provided plenty of eye-candy and the sweet aroma of incense filled the air through the ceremony and well into the night. It was magical. Big props go to the extremely talented Teresa and team at Enchanted Florist for bringing this unique vision to life! I’m in love!

M&G: BIG Congrats guys! May your marriage be filled with love, light and ooodles of happiness! :-)
