There’s always been an indescribable magic and romance about the winter time. When those final warm rays of summer give way to an icy chill and rosy cheeks, it almost makes you want to drop everything in that instant to cozy up with warm layers, hot cocoa (with extra mini marshmallows, of course!) and your favorite person. ^_^
So in honor of the chilly weather outside, I’m excited to share this styled wedding collaboration I did with the fabulous event design and coordination team, Scheme Events, and a talented team of Las Vegas’ best! Together we put together a modern woodland wedding that showcased a different side of Las Vegas. Just an hour outside of the strip rests the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort resort, set atop Mount Charleston. In the winter this lush forest is transformed into a dreamy snowy backdrop that’s the perfect setting for a winter wedding.
The Ski and Snowboard Resort has these lovely yellow ski lifts that Scheme Events used for seating in the reception area, draping them with flowers by Layers of Lovely. Some other unique design details were adorable moose place cards, flower-filled faceted terrariums, a rustic yarn diagram seating chart and a classic naked cake from Peridot Sweets.
Our bride, Destiny, wore one-of-a-kind lace and tulle wedding dress custom designed by Sophia Rose Bridal. Just love her romantic designs! <3 And her flawless makeup and relaxed flowy hair was done up by Makeup in the 702.

I’m excited to share that two of my good friends, Traci and Case, are officially shackled together for life!
Case is an amazingly talented sports writer, and Traci is a wedding coordinator and co-owner of the fabulous Scheme Events. I love Scheme for their design-oriented approach to wedding planning, and couldn’t wait to see what they had in store for the big day of one of their own! They did not disappoint! They assembled a veritable dream team of some of Vegas’s best wedding professionals to help bring Traci’s vision to life. It all came together in the perfect mix of elegant, chic and fun. I absolutely adored all the glitter elements, sparkling amongst the rich navy, gold and pink color palette. And just wait until you see Traci’s hot pink bejeweled Kate Spade shoes!
Let’s start with some details! Out of town guests were sure to feel loved and welcome as they were treated to these adorable, custom-designed welcome bags from the Welcome Bag Shoppe. These were filled with some of Traci & Case’s favorite things: chocolate caramels from Peridot Sweets, buttercream sugar cookies from Retro Bakery, WSOP playing cards (World Series of Poker is what initially brought Case to Vegas!) and some Rondel Champagne to celebrate the uniting of the two lovebirds!
Traci’s girls looked stunning in their navy floor-length bridesmaids dresses.
Midnight blue sequined linens, contrasted by warm golden candlelight and intimate overhead pin-lighting set the mood for a magical evening.
Traci and Case have excellent taste in music. Their live band Mark & The Martinis kept everyone entertained with classy vintage songs.
At sunset, we snuck away from the party for a couple of quick newlywed photos on the golf course. We had just a few minutes before the sun disappeared behind the mountains. It was definitely a beautiful end to a beautiful day. <3
Congratulations you two! Love you guys and hope you have an incredible time on your honeymoon! xoxo

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you may recognize Traci from the powerhouse wedding coordination trio, Scheme Events! Not only has she become an amazing friend, but Traci and her team are crazy talented and we’ve had the opportunity to work on many beautiful weddings together. I love this girl and can’t wait for it to be Traci’s turn to take that very special walk down the aisle!
When it came time to plan Traci and Case’s engagement session, we wanted a fun, down-to-earth vibe with a bit of an edge. Traci and Case share a love for great music and are frequent concert goers. Case even pulled off the perfect surprise proposal while they were seeing one of their favorite bands, New Found Glory, playing at Hard Rock on the strip. (Click here to read the whole story with photos on the Scheme blog – it’s awesome!) So, to add just the right amount of grit to their session, we ventured out of town to shoot in an abandoned house and ended with T & C in bright lights.

T + C : I had so much fun with you guys this day and am PUMPED for your wedding next month! :-) I couldn’t think of a more perfect start to the year, and I can’t wait to photograph and celebrate your love! xoxo
