Liz + Jean’s Wedding

It’s hard to know where to start with Liz and Jean. These two have become amazing friends to both Jayse and I through several fun photo-shoots and mini-adventures together over the past few years. You may remember them from their L.A. County Fair & Griffith Park engagement session that was featured on SMP earlier this year.

As you can probably tell from the photos, Liz and Jean are one of those couples you always feel happy just being around. I think part of it is that it’s easy to tell just how much they love each other, and how much they appreciate having good friends around.

And that’s how this wedding felt – a bunch of good friends and family gathering in sunny California for a stunning destination wedding on the romantic grounds of Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. The talented coordination trio, Scheme Events, was there to make sure every detail was in place and the entire day went flawless!

The morning started at The W Hotel in Hollywood, getting ready surrounded by close friends and loved ones.

I adored all the detail and love put into Liz and Jean’s wedding. The gorgeous floral was artfully created by the amazing team at Layers of Lovely, and custom letterpress invites were designed and made by Paper & Home.

For their first look, I brought Jean to a quiet private place between a long pathway of towering cypress trees. I think five years of loving Liz, and waiting for this day must have flooded Jean when he turned around to see his bride for the first time that day. His expression said it all.

Guin & Eric’s Wedding

Garden Wedding at Springs Preserve Las Vegas Guin and Eric met at a softball game and soon became fast friends. They started just hanging out after the games, until one night things heated up a notch! While out at a house party, Guin’s friends mentioned that Eric was ‘totally into her’. Guin decided to take matters into her own hands, pinning Eric in a corner of the room and planting a kiss on him. It must have been an amazing first kiss. Fast forward 4 years, Guin and Eric are officially husband and wife!

Their wedding day was a laid-back, fun destination affair that took place at the gorgeous Springs Preserve in Las Vegas. And with the talented team at Scheme Events coordinating the day went absolutely perfect! Garden Wedding at Springs Preserve Las Vegas To add an romantic touch to Guin & Eric’s outdoor ceremony in the Garden Arboretum, the wedding arch was adorned with vines, burlap fabric and an elegant chandelier.Garden Wedding at Springs Preserve Las VegasGarden Wedding at Springs Preserve Las VegasGarden Wedding at Springs Preserve Las Vegas The reception took place in the Gardens Terrace. Melissa & Sean’s Wedding

When Melissa and Sean first described their wedding as “more of a big fun party than a wedding” with all their closest friends and family I knew it was going to be a memorable day – and it was! Melissa and Sean’s wedding was a true reflection of how they are as people: laid-back and crazy fun. Then to put the icing on the cake (wedding cake!), who better to help pull off such an incredible day than the uber-talented ladies – Traci, Rissa and team – at Scheme Events!

I’m thrilled to share a few photos from Melissa and Sean’s romantic garden affair at The Springs Preserve! To kick things off – here’s a peek at Melissa’s gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown and succulent bouquet:

Melissa and Sean said their ‘I Do’s’ surrounded by sunshine and greenery in The Springs Preserve’s lush Garden’s Arboteum. This one makes me smile. :-) Newlywed bliss! Some of the pretty flower girls:Loved these darling succulent-filled metal flower-girl baskets designed by Catherine at Layers of Lovely.Melissa and Sean love to travel together. In the past two years they’ve ventured to Hawaii (Kauai), Vail, Mammoth, Santa Barbara, D.C. and Tucson– with lots more trips on the horizon! To add a personal touch their centerpieces, they incorporated pictures and stories of the different places that hold meaning to them as part of their table markers:

Scheme Events

Today I get to introduce the fabulous girls of Scheme Events – Tara, Traci and Rissa!

I love these girls and when they first reached out to ask if I could photograph them for their new site, I knew we had to plan something as fun and lively as they are.

Something that sets Scheme apart from other planners is their eye for, and love of, the design aspect of a wedding. I love this about them, so I came up with several ideas that reflected who they are and what they do.

Of course, with a name like Scheme, you can just picture them coming up with all sorts of ideas for weddings. So I had this idea for a giant chalkboard backdrop FILLED with wedding-related inspiration. Scheme contacted caricature artist, Jessica of Girl Who Drew You who took the idea to the next level with her beautiful drawings! Big thanks also goes to Megan at Makeup in the 702 for rocking the hair and makeup, and to my Jayse for coming along and assisting!

Part 2 of our shoot was outdoors at the lovely Springs Preserve:

Tara, Rissa and Traci: Thanks for a day of fun and laughter! I had a blast with you guys! :-)
