Meet Cara and Nathaniel: a super sweet, laid-back couple from Canada who came out to celebrate their wedding here in Vegas. Cara booked me to capture some cool couples images of her and Nathaniel while they were in town for the wedding. And when I found out that she’s an avid knitter (and even has her own blog dedicated towards all her latest knitting projects – Reckless Glue), I couldn’t resist playing it up in our trash the dress session! You see, I absolutely love doing themed shoots (themed engagement sessions, day-after, trash the dress sessions, you name it.. I can’t get enough) or just adding a few unexpected elements that are unique to my couples. I love that it makes things much more personal.

Cara made Nathaniel a skinny black tie to match with his outfit for the shoot. I loved the knit hearts – such an adorable little touch.
Nathaniel plays in several bands and collects punk and garage singles. So as a little prop he brought along an issue of his favorite magazine, Ugly Things, all about sixties garage bands. And Cara rocked a copy of Knitting for Dummies! Minus the desert backdrop, this is exactly how they can be found in their free-time - Cara with her knits and Nathaniel chillin’ with a good magazine.
