Celeste and Matt first met at a friends party where they were both were smitten with each other. But it wasn’t until a year later they would cross paths again. After secretly thinking of each other for the whole time in between, they bumped into each other one night in town, exchanged #s and the rest was history!
After a 5-year engagement and two beautiful children together, Celeste and Matthew decided it was time to make things official! They didn’t want to wait anymore, so their spontaneous hearts and love of travel brought them from their home in beautiful Byron Bay, Australia, to the desert of Las Vegas for an intimate elopement with just the two of them. Their wedding day reflected their love for each other, relaxed bohemian style, and fun adventurous spirits.
We started the afternoon cruising through the city in a vintage Buick convertible, exploring the Neon Museum and dancing through the streets of downtown Vegas.
Next, we were off to the desert!
When your car breaks down middle of the nowhere… keep calm and shoot on! ;)
After letting the car cool down and gurgle back to life, we drove out to Celeste and Matt’s ceremony site. It was set on a beautiful expanse of dry lakebed surrounded by mountains, and officiated by the lovely Victoria of Flora Pop, with her matching yellow hair and pop-up teardrop-trailer. They also rented an airstream from Silver Trailer which they used to freshen up and relax in before the ceremony.
Seven beautiful, adventure-filled years together led up to this one beautiful moment…
At long last: MARRIED!!
Celeste + Matt: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Hope you’re celebrating with some champagne today! I loved being a part of your wedding adventure, and it always puts the biggest smile on my face thinking back to that beautiful day. :) Sending you two so much love from Vegas! XOXO
Witty, lively and good hearted – I knew I was going to love these two from the start! :-) These two sweethearts met in high school. In the fall of 2000 they went to homecoming together. Later that night, Steve romanced Shanna with an evening dance under the football bleachers. The song he played was N’Sync’s ‘This I Promise You’. (Smooth, Steve, really smooth!) As high school crushes often go, they eventually lost touch, but reconnected a few years later and fell head-over-heals again. Steve said “I was hooked.. and wasn’t letting her go!” Later, on a trip back to their hometown of Detroit, Steve took Shanna for a car ride to share a trip down memory lane, ending back at the same football field. He played the same song, but, this time, he also had a ring. He got down on one knee, and she said YES!
Shanna + Steve shared the sweetest private First Look before their ceremony. <3
Shanna + Steve both love the outdoors, and once they saw the Springs Preserve they knew it would be the place they were going to get married. Thanks to their amazing wedding planner Paulina Clute, the day was just as they had imagined it!
The ceremony was held in the Garden Arboretum where the arch was draped with beautiful pink and cream flowers from By Dzign.
After the ceremony Shanna and Steve joined their guests for cocktail hour and shared a first dance beneath the garden gazebo to ‘This I Promise You’.
Shanna + Steve: I’m so happy that I got to be a part of your love story. :-) Capturing the love between you two was magical!! <3
Kaylyn and Nick met in high school, and it wasn’t long until the lines of friendship blurred and they had fallen madly for each other. They secretly dated for a few months, but eventually it became too obvious and you could clearly see that they were craaazy for each other! Nick proposed to Kaylyn in Vegas, so it was only fitting that they come back for their wedding day. This time joined by all their favorite people for an intimate and beautiful surprise desert wedding!
Now, this couple knows how to pull off a surprise wedding in style! When their family and friends arrived in Vegas, they were simply told to get on a bus in front of the hotel at 4:15pm, sharp! That began an hour long adventure deep into the desert. As you can imagine, they were elated when they saw Kaylyn and Nick, all dolled up, walking their way across the desert and down a make-shift aisle to their ceremony site. The ceremony was set against the terracotta colored rocks with a custom macrame backdrop designed by Nostalgia Vintage. Kaylyn and Nick walked together to ‘Hey Ho!’ by Lumineers, played by one of their closest friends.
Kaylyn’s bouquet from Layers of Lovely was everything… I’m kinda obsessed with this exotic, hot pink-tipped protea flower! K + N: I’m so happy I was a part of your desert adventure! You two are amazing & absolutely perfect for each other!!! <333 :-)
I first met Rana + Ryan this past spring on a dusty photo-adventure in the sand dunes for their engagement shoot. We enjoyed hours of talking about travel and life, and it was there, while hiking up-and-down the rolling desert hills in search of the ‘perfect dune’ that I very quickly fell in love with these two. So, I’ve been looking forward to this day for months!
I always love these morning moments. Everyone got prepped & pretty at Rana’s parents’ house in Henderson, NV. Each of her girls were anticipating a day ahead that they’d spent months dreaming and planning for. And amid the flurry of getting ready, it was the moment when Rana put on her dress, that I thought: It’s all coming together – I can’t wait until Ryan sees you!
The ceremony was held at the gorgeous St. Francis of Assisi, where Rana and Ryan said their ‘I do’s’ in a classic, timeless style in front of all their closest friends and family.
The new Mr & Mrs were pretty happy!! <3
Rana radiated her ‘just married’ glow in style with her handcrafted lace and tulle ballgown by Berta Bridal & dapper groom by her side!
Planning & Design for Rana and Ryan’s celebration was executed to perfection by Darby Fitzpatrick and her amazing at Open Invitation! The vision was classic meets lux-glamour – featuring neutral shades of white, cream and ivory with hints of blush, an abundance of candles, touches of gold and lavish floral arrangements by Miss Daisy Floral.
You guys are Marrrrrried!! Huge congrats! I hope you had an amazing time celebrating on your honeymoon in Thailand, Cambodia & Singapore! So happy for you two! :-)
As you may have already seen from my previous Instagram posts, I’m slightly in love with Sidney and Greg. They are that perfect mix of active, fun and adventurous. The outdoors are their idea of cozy comfort perfection! So when planning their ideal day, they simply let their fond memories of Sidney’s family lake-house guide them to a different lake that they’d never been to before: Lake Tahoe.
Site unseen. Booked! Now that’s adventurous! Not to worry though; The Hyatt Regency Resort is a venue I’m very familiar with, and their mountain retreat in the beautiful Incline Village delivered the best of all worlds – breathtaking backdrops, fun activities for guests and plenty of adventure opportunities!
Having spent a lot of time hiking and exploring with these two, I gotta admit, seeing Sidney and Greg exchange first looks kind of made my heart flutter a bit! I know they’ve been waiting years just to experience this tiny little moment in time!
Their ceremony was held lakeside, at the Hyatt’s beautiful stretch of private beach by the Pier.
I think they rock the “Happy New Mr & Mrs” look quite well! <3
S+G: CONGRATS!!! I loved sharing in the start of this amazing, new adventure for you two (the best adventure!) You two are truly amazing together! :-) <3
I knew when I met these two for their rooftop engagement session, their big day would feature everything you could want in a wedding: LOVE, fun, design, style and adventure. Fran and Kenny did NOT disappoint! Their wedding was held at the lush and luxurious Hummingbird Nest Ranch, nestled amongst the golden hills of Simi Valley, California.
Tasked with combining F+K’s differing style-obsessions (urban, chic, modern, industrial, rustic, romantic) Meg West at Events by M and M brought it all together to design and deliver a gorgeous wedding environment that completely floored the couple, the guests and me! Set with geometric motifs and using the 2016 Pantone colors of the year (serenity and rose quartz), this was a wedding that was a complete joy to capture!
The morning started off right, with good music playing and Fran and her girls getting ready in anticipation of the happy day ahead.
For the ‘First Look’ they each hid behind a single giant round balloon. I had them meet in a private courtyard where they released the balloons at the same time and enjoyed a sweet moment together for just the two of them.
During the ceremony Fran and Kenny each shared their own personal vows which had everyone, including me, tearing up.
F+K: You two are seriously amazing together – love you both! Your day was filled with so much love, beauty, and FUN! I loved spending it with you guys! <3
